Gold Canada Coin
The gold Canada coin was the topic of an interesting discussion last week as we had purchased several items from an estate sale and one of the coins happened to be beautiful Gold Maple Leaf coin.
This particular Canada Maple Gold coin was very similar to one that Larry had nearly 20 years ago. I believe these were first issued in 1979 and with the .9999 being 24 karat gold they are absolutely stunning to view in any lighting. The depth from different angles makes this coin seem like it would weigh pounds but in reality it weighed just over 3 gr.
The Royal Canadian Mint has certainly created a thing of beauty and purity with this 1/10 troy ounce five dollar gold coin. Our discussion revolved around the fact that the gold coins Canada has produced are not only the official gold bullion coins of Canada but how they are indeed some of the purest examples in the world.
